Heated swimming pool was excellent on a cold & frosty morning then lovely hot shower & good breakfast.Night before great dinner & bottle of wine.
A small peice of luxury in the Yorkshire countryside. Everything was perfect, we were looked after and made to feel very special.
The friendliness of the Staff who made a special effort to make one feel very welcome. The pool was great, just a pity that the weather did not match, and the location of the hotel was fantastic.
The management of the bar. It was very nice to be treated individually but the service was slow and a too formal prior to dinner. Encouraging people to mingle around the bar area would improve the atmosphere amongst the guests - we only got talking to other guests at the end of the night.
The excellent food and the general ambience of the hotel especially the friendlines of the staff.
the spa wa lovely yet the treatments were slightly pricey, the food was good and the room was spacious, the staff were excellent
Fantastic Hotel. Staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were lovely - very comfortable and stylish. The food was excellent. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was brilliant.
Warm staff, clean rooms, good interior and service, excellent food. Good bathroom interiors and spa.
Extremely comfortable with pleasant and helpful staff
The hotel staff were all very pleasant and attentive with a good knowledge of waht was happening in the hotel
Comfortable room. reakfast in room. Excellent friendly and competent staff Heated pool and relaxing area surrounding. Very good food esp. cheese board and young knowledgeable waiter who served it.
Pool needs depth indications on side. Handrail needed on one side of steps into pool. Wine list is rediculously expensive no bottles under £20 If the hotel intends to cater for guests stayinging longer than a few days it needs to extend its menu to give more choice Courtesy tray for tea/coffeee should be provided in each room automatically rather than having to ask for one.
Our visit was a gift. On arrival we were told we had been up-graded which was a lovely surprise. Every aspect of our stay was superb----- even the dip in the outside pool. We went for a pampering break and every experience in the spa was great. Add to all this the superb food and service and we run out of superlatives. We will be back. Gordon & Estelle ( Feb. 2012 )
The rooms were extremely large, well equipped and well presented.
There were a few areas of the hotel decor that would have benefitted from a VERY SLIGHT additional attention to detail.
Lovely room with log burner will defiantly be going back again! Spa treatments excellent!
Spa and facilities
Service in the restaurant could be slow and fussy
Close to town centre & interesting shops, but with country walks to take without driving.Swimming pool was easily accessed from our room, robes and slippers provided and room towels may be used.
Cost of wine, but this seems always the case everywhere.
